The roots of Canexis Pharma AG go back a long way. Inspired
from his grandmother, who was involved in homeopathy, naturopathy and
Sebastian Zeller developed an early bond with alternative medicine
to nature and its healing powers. The family believed in the
natural medicine passed down from her mother to her grandson.

Sebastian Zeller's pursuit of scientific knowledge led him to complete training as a chemical laboratory technician. This gave him, for the first time, a deeper understanding of the complex processes of natural science. These fundamentals enabled him to better understand the functionality and properties of the matter around him as well as the chemical relationships.

Despite his training, Zeller did not fully find the fulfillment he was looking for in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. That's why he decided to combine his existing knowledge with technical know-how and studied business informatics from 2016. During his studies, the legal use of cannabis containing CBD experienced an upswing in Switzerland, which led Zeller and his childhood friend Adriano Meier to found a company to cultivate legal cannabis in 2017.

Shortly after successfully completing his studies in 2019, Sebastian Zeller found himself at a crucial point: should he follow a typical career path or pursue his passion for cultivating cannabis? Neither one nor the other option fully met his expectations. He therefore decided to take the next big step and combine his knowledge of natural medicinal plants with his economic understanding. These ideas, which he had already developed during his bachelor's thesis, led to the founding of Canexis Pharma AG in 2020 six months after completing his studies.

Since then, important milestones have already been achieved:

• February 2020: Canexis Pharma AG founded
• May 2021: Groundbreaking ceremony for the new building
• July / 2022: Completion of the new production building
• March 2023: Delivery of the last relevant process systems
• April 2023: Delivery of the first customers from the new production site
• July 2023: Completion of the complete interior work
• August 2023: Activation of hygiene zones
• January 2024: Start of validation batches for Cannabidiol Ph. Eur.
• January 2024: Initial inspection by the regional medicinal products authorities
• expected April 2024: Obtaining the GMP manufacturing license
• expected April 2024: obtaining the narcotics license
• July 2024: Ph. Eur. Monographs for Cannabidiol and Cannabis flos come into force.
