New possibilities through controlled pilot testing with cannabis

Since May 15, 2021, an amendment to the Narcotics Act by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has allowed pilot trials for the controlled distribution of cannabis for recreational purposes. These trials are intended to provide a scientific basis for future legal regulation.

The change in the law has been in force since May 15, 2021 and is limited to ten years. The requirements for carrying out the pilot tests and the details of the application process are regulated in the regulation on pilot tests according to the Narcotics Act (BetmPV).

Canexis Pharma AG has generally established itself as a reliable supplier of cannabis raw materials. Compliance with regulatory requirements is particularly important and shows that a strong partnership between producers and suppliers is essential for the success of such initiatives. The company therefore supports such initiatives and enables them to provide insights into the impact of controlled access to cannabis on the physical and mental health of users and consumption behavior.
